This weeks progress

This week I have been getting my loom up and running. Bit by bit I put it together, made a warp and tied it on. The warp was not my first choice, but just what I had around; cream colored wool/cashmere. Hmmm what to do with that? I had it leftover from the days when I made cloth for wearable art. Well thank goodness I did not make a lot of warp!  I have been painting on it to see how it takes the dyes, bleaching did not work. Discharge paste is too toxic for my taste. But, still wool is a challenge as I do not I want to use this material.

I found a good website for Push-to-Connect Pneumatic Fittings, which I needed as one of my connectors in the cabinet is leaking compressed air.
http://www.automationdirect.com  I ordered a few parts and they shipped it the same day! I hope I ordered the right size.

Also I found 2 websites for thin wire to weave.
RJ Leahy in San Francisco, of course is the company I used to purchase the wire for the CCA Textile Department. I want to put a wire warp on the TC1 and weave all wire.

And now to the question on what to weave? This is where the craft of using a loom ends and the artistic expression starts.

More next week on my struggle to find a meaningful topic which I want to highlight with my humble interpretations.
